Merrick Foundation is proud to share that we have been accredited with Community Foundations National Standards®—a distinction that represents the highest standards for excellence in philanthropy.
At Merrick Foundation, our work is rooted in strengthening the communities of Merrick County. From supporting local nonprofits and enhancing quality of life, to investing in education, parks, arts, and community development, we are committed to helping our communities grow and thrive—now and for generations to come. This accreditation affirms that commitment and reflects our promise to continue doing this work together, right here at home.
While participation in National Standards is voluntary, Merrick Foundation chose to pursue accreditation as part of our ongoing dedication to accountability, transparency, and stewardship. This recognition assures our donors, partners, and community members that we have strong policies and sound practices in place to responsibly manage charitable assets and maximize local impact.
To achieve accreditation, Merrick Foundation underwent a comprehensive review process, submitting our policies and procedures for evaluation across 26 rigorous standards in key areas such as donor services, investment management, grantmaking, and administration.
The Community Foundations National Standards® program was established in 2000 in partnership with the Council on Foundations to support excellence and integrity across community foundations nationwide. Merrick Foundation is one of only eight accredited community foundations in Nebraska.
